Country Brook Kitchen and Multi-Room Renovation
A modern farmhouse kitchen and multi-room renovation in Springboro, Ohio.
The Country Brook clients came to me wanting to tear out and completely reimagine their kitchen. The original layout was closed-off and awkward — three separate islands chopped up the space, one of them dividing the kitchen from the living room and cutting off the eat-in area. Their goal was an open, connected flow: a space that works whether you're cooking, sitting down to eat, or watching the game in the next room.
I designed and managed the full renovation from concept to final reveal. We opened the entire space and replaced the three islands with one large, family-friendly island that keeps the room walkable and connected. Drawn to a country-modern farmhouse style, the clients' kitchen now features a farmhouse sink, a statement farmhouse hood, a gas cooktop, a herringbone backsplash with gray grout, gray-veined quartz countertops, and dramatic island lighting that elevates the whole room. The renovation carried through the home: a half bath reworked with a richer dark green vanity, enlarged storage, and gold accents; a combined laundry and mudroom with hex-tile floors and shiplap detailing to echo the kitchen; and a fully revamped bar with a new beverage fridge, a black herringbone backsplash, and lit glass-front cabinetry.
What was once a closed-off, dated layout is now a bright, open, sophisticated home built around the way this family actually lives. Designing and managing every space in-house is exactly what makes a transformation this cohesive.
