The clients came to us with an ambitious vision: a major addition that would double their living space, anchored by a kitchen built for the way they love to entertain. The original kitchen ended where the back of the house once stood — so as the home expanded, we had the rare opportunity to design the new kitchen entirely from the ground up.

I designed the entire space around one striking island. The clients love to host, so the cooktop faces the room, welcoming guests as they arrive, while thoughtful details keep everything functional — utensil and spice pull-outs, dedicated pots-and-pans storage, and additional storage for serving cutlery and plates. Moving beyond the standard white kitchen, we leaned into a warm, earthy palette: an evergreen fog island, a soft beige tone that lets the gold accents shine, wood-tone seating, gold-handled café appliances, and countertops that draw every shade together.

The result is a warm, layered, inviting kitchen that completely transformed how this family lives and entertains. Designing a space like this from concept to final reveal — around how the clients truly use their home — is exactly what a full-service approach makes possible.
