Cinnamon Run Loft Design

A warm, modern-antique loft design in Beavercreek, Ohio.

The clients reached out wanting to transform an underused loft into something their family would actually use — a functional home office and book-reading space for them and their kids. They were drawn to antique character but wanted it to feel updated and a little more modern, and they needed help bringing that balance to life.

I designed and styled the entire space from concept to final reveal. We started by grounding the room with the clients' existing rug, then built an intentional color story around it — layering warm tones, soft blues, and creams with just the right touch of red for depth. Furniture became the centerpiece: pieces with beautiful turned legs and detailed side panels, anchored by a dresser that ties the whole look together. Every selection was made to honor the antique feel the clients loved while keeping the space fresh, livable, and cohesive.

The result is a cozy, elevated loft that finally works for this family — a quiet, characterful place to read, work, and gather. Knowing how to blend a client's existing pieces with the right new ones, and tie it all together with color and detail, is exactly what makes a space feel designed.
