Brownstone Living Room and Half Bath Remodel
A cohesive interior design and remodel in Springboro, Ohio.
The Brownstone clients came to us with a few connected spaces that weren't working: a dining area with a large blank wall and no real furniture plan, a cramped pantry full of wire shelving, and a dated half bath. Because these rooms all open to one another, the goal was to design the entire zone as one cohesive, functional whole rather than a series of separate fixes.
I designed and managed the project from concept to final reveal. The empty dining wall became full custom built-in cabinetry and shelving — a true extension of the home's smaller kitchen, adding real storage and function — finished in a custom green paint with a reeded cabinet detail and a wood shelf stain-matched to the dining table. From there, the design carried into a cozy breakfast nook with a clever built-in pet cabinet, a dedicated bar storage zone, and a completely rebuilt pantry with functional pull-outs in place of the old wire shelves. The half bath was fully remodeled with a unique gold mirror, a smoky glass light, a smoky Cambria countertop, and a custom reeded vanity. A statement wallpaper — originally planned for the half bath alone — was so loved that we carried it through to tie the connected spaces seamlessly together.
The result is a beautifully cohesive main level where every space flows into the next. Designing and managing a connected project like this in-house — matching stains, carrying details room to room, solving storage at every turn — is exactly what makes a home feel intentional from one space to the next.
